Repair vs. Replacement

Glass coverage, deductibles, OEM-part allowances and recalibration authorization vary by insurance company and policy. Insight Auto Glass can help collect the vehicle and claim information needed for an eligible repair or replacement and coordinate with the carrier or claim administrator when required.

We can help you work through the glass-claim process without pretending every policy works the same way.

1

Confirm Your Coverage

Review the glass coverage and deductible under your policy.

2

Start or Provide the Claim

Give us the claim information if it is already open, or contact us if you need help understanding the next step.

3

Identify the Glass

We confirm the vehicle, damaged glass and any windshield-camera requirements.

4

Confirm Authorization

The insurer or administrator determines what is covered and what documentation is required.

5

Complete the Service

Once the job is approved or otherwise ready to proceed, we complete the service and provide applicable documentation.

FAQ

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers

Do you work with my insurance company?

We work with major carriers and glass-claim administrators. If you are unsure about your carrier, contact us.

Will I have a deductible?

Maybe. That is determined by your policy.

Does insurance cover ADAS recalibration?

It can when recalibration is required as part of a covered windshield replacement, but the insurer determines coverage.

What is the difference between insurance and a warranty?

Insurance addresses covered damage events under an auto policy. A warranty or service contract follows the terms and authorization process of that separate agreement.

Do I need to call insurance first?

Not necessarily. You can contact the carrier first or start with us and we can help explain what information you will need.

Does insurance pay for OEM glass?

Sometimes. Authorization depends on the vehicle and policy.

Can chip repair go through insurance?

Sometimes. Chip-repair coverage varies by policy.

Need Help With a Glass Claim?
